We’d tell you how it works, but then we’d have to stab you with a balloon sword.
Sent to us by Karen’s first boss, who finds lots of pretty cool stuff.
Blue Angel F-11A
John’s business and clown activities take him all over central and Eastern NC. This is an area of the country with a rich history of aviation. As a result, he encounters a lot of “planes on sticks.” He thought he’d create a blog post to track the retired airplanes he encounters.
We found this Blue Angel F-11A jet, with a complete story, in New Bern, NC.
K-Days in Kinston, NC
Ubi the clown and his partner, Karen the Hoop Lady, have entertained children at K Days at Emma Webb Park in Kinston, NC, more than once. It’s a pleasant Saturday afternoon picnic, with food vendors, a DJ, and plenty of things to do.
Here are a few pictures of people hooping and children getting balloon animals from the 2012 party.
Another Giant Chicken in Pittsboro
LaNelle Davis, artist, and Steve Carr, building owner, are creating a giant chicken mosaic made out of mirror tiles, at the corner of the building at Rectory and West street in downtown Pittsboro, NC. The building was once a chicken hatchery.
Materials have been donated by local and regional artists, and LaNelle, who has created mosaics all around the area, is donating her creative energy and time.
Here are the finished pictures!
Ubi the Pirate Clown at the Pirate Invasion, Beaufort, NC
Ubi the Pirate Clown made a rare appearance this year at the Pirate Invasion in Beaufort, NC.
Ubi arrived just after the Pirate Parade passed through downtown Beaufort and set up his twisting chair on the waterfront, outside the Dockhouse Restaurant.
Some of the more modern pirates arrived in cars and RVs, but many of the authentic pirates came to Beaufort the way they always had, by sail and by sea. More than one ship in the harbor flew the Jolly Roger.
The harbor flags flew greetings to all who arrived across the water.
After twisting many a balloon sword for many a carefully costumed lad and lass, the occasional poodle or puppy balloon
was a welcome break!
Boys wanted cutlasses and crossbones.
Ubi the Pirate Clown was twisting right across the plaza from the music stage, where the band Rusty Cutlass (that’s Rusty with an Arrgh!) entertained for two sets in the afternoon. That’s a mermaid playing a fiddle on the left front side of the stage!
By the second song, people were dancing. Ubi wanted to dance a jig, but he had too many people waiting for balloons!
Some of the youngest children got magic wand balloons with hearts.
The face painters nearby were doing a banner business in painting moustaches, beards and bandanas on people who didn’t wake up with facial hair that day!
Cool breezes off the water kept the August heat at bay and a good time was had by all!
